FAQ's

Frequently asked questions

Is your jewellery real silver?

Yes, my jewellery is made from authentic 925 Sterling Silver (which means its made from 92.5% silver and 7.5% from an alloy which is added for malleability)

Unlike silver-plated jewellery, which has a thin silver coating over a base metal, our pieces are solid sterling silver, ensuring lasting quality.”

Will my jewellery tarnish?

Since sterling silver contains copper, it can tarnish over time due to exposure to air and moisture. Reassure customers with care tips:

Tarnishing is a natural process, but regular cleaning with a soft cloth and proper storage keeps your jewellery looking new.

Can i wear silver jewellery in the shower/bathing/swimming?

You can wear sterling silver jewellery in the shower, swimming pool, or sea, but it's not recommended due to potential damage. Here’s why:

1. Showering with Sterling Silver

Mild risk: Clean water and gentle soap won’t damage sterling silver immediately, but repeated exposure can lead to dullness over time.

Soap & Shampoo Build up: Some soaps, shampoos, and conditioners contain chemicals that may leave a residue, making the silver look dull.

2. Swimming in a Pool with Sterling Silver

High risk: Pools contain chlorine, which reacts with silver, causing it to tarnish and darken quickly. Prolonged exposure can even weaken the metal.

Recommendation: Always remove your sterling silver jewellery before entering a pool.

3. Wearing Sterling Silver in the Sea

High risk: Saltwater can accelerate tarnishing and may cause long-term damage to sterling silver.

Fine Sand Particles : Sand and seawater can also scratch or dull the surface of your jewellery.

Recommendation: Avoid wearing your sterling silver pieces in the ocean.

How to Care for Sterling Silver if Exposed to Water

If your jewellery does get wet:

  1. Rinse with clean water to remove chlorine or salt.
  2. Dry thoroughly with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  3. Store properly in an anti-tarnish pouch when not in use.
